About The Kindergarten

The main focus of our kindergarten is our 20 children. Everyday the children have the opportunity to explore the forest as a playground and habitat. The children are outdoors in all weather conditions and actively learn their environment by using their senses. The children’s immune systems are strengthened because they get plenty of fresh air and exercise. “There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes.” Sticking to the motto, the children need to be appropriately dressed for the weather. Waterproof clothing, hiking boots, and a hat to protect against the elements are necessary to comfortably spend the day in the woods. The children are not restricted by walls and are free to explore and discover the world around them. There are no ready-made toys. We believe that what is found in nature stimulates the imagination.

It takes the energy of the leaders to permit the children this wonderful opportunity and to allow for a smooth operation, ie the operator of the kindergarten.

Another important leader in the kindergarten is the AK-conductor parents advisory counsel, which is integrated in all major educational processes and organizational decisions, and of course, the education team. Legally, the board represents the association. A maximum of 4 assessors support the board in its work.

The kindergarten is a member of the National Association of Forest and Nature Kindergartens, Baden Wurttemburg eV. We are in a lively exchange with other forest kindergartens and training for educators is a high priority to us.

If you have any questions, you can contact the board at any time by emailing info@wald-igel.de or by calling 0163 97 44 719.  We look forward to hearing from you!
